Through The Standby Story, we gently collect meaningful memories, words and photos during the care journey—with permission—and bring them together in a personal Life Story Book for the older person and their family.

Chong founded Standby Care with a deeply personal belief: every older person deserves to be seen, heard and valued—not simply supported through a list of daily tasks.
With more than a decade of experience in social work, aged care and case management across Hong Kong and Geelong, Chong brings together professional expertise and genuine human understanding. As a Certified Dementia Care Planner and accredited interRAI assessor, he is skilled in recognising changing needs, developing structured care plans and coordinating support across families, nurses, occupational therapists and care workers.
Fluent in English, Cantonese, Mandarin and Shanghainese, Chong understands how language, culture and familiar routines shape a person’s sense of safety and identity. His approach centres on preserving independence, dignity and the life story behind every person receiving care.

Our team brings together experienced aged care workers, nurses and allied health partners who understand ageing, brain health and dementia. Together, we notice the small changes, respond to each person’s needs and provide thoughtful, well-coordinated care.
